About Us:
Since 1972
Founded on March 20, 1972, Corbett & Sons began its journey as Corbett Painting & Decorating, a company rooted in industrial painting. As client needs grew, so did the company’s expertise. Responding to increasing demand for a broader range of services, including decorating, office partitioning, and industrial cleaning, the business evolved, updating its name to Corbett & Sons (Builders and Decorators) Limited. In December 2012, it became Corbett & Sons Limited, reflecting its continued expansion into specialized construction services.
From the very beginning, the company has remained proudly family-run. Michael Joseph Corbett, born August 1942, led the firm as Director until October 2006, when he passed the role to his son, Joseph Michael Corbett. In October 2024, Joe appointed a second director, Tracy Boys, who continues to support operations as Office Manager and has been working for Corbett & Sons Limited for 13 Years.
Corbett & Sons has long been a trusted partner to clients across the capital. A key relationship began in the 1980s with the London Electricity Board (now UK Power Networks), and the company has continued to evolve in line with their increasingly complex infrastructure needs. While painting, decorating, and building maintenance remain core strengths, our team has added a diverse range of capabilities, such as pigeon netting, industrial rope access, confined space entry, and scaffolding supervision to meet modern safety and operational standards.
The ramp-up to the 2012 Olympics marked another milestone, as we expanded services to include site welfare refurbishments, electrical works, and later, NRSWA Project Management. Today, we manage permit acquisition, road closures, parking bay suspensions, and all necessary permissions for UKPN’s critical tunnel access projects.
Our commitment to safety and professionalism is embedded in everything we do. We are active members of Achilles, Constructionline, and CHAS, and we work closely with health and safety consultants THSP to ensure all operatives meet rigorous training and competency standards. Our work is regularly audited through both site visits and desktop reviews.
Most projects range between £1,500–£15,000, with capabilities extending up to £150,000. We provide quotations for the majority of our work, rather than operating on day rates. With nearly 30 years of service for UK Power Networks, alongside a growing portfolio of private and commercial clients, we continue to deliver adaptable and high-quality results with a collaborative spirit and strong emphasis on client relationships.

Based in London, we proudly serve clients across the Capital and Greater London. However, we also undertake contracts nationwide, subject to consultation and job specifications. Whether the work is local or further afield, we’re committed to delivering the same high standards of safety, quality, and reliability on every project.
